Against the Wall: Mahmoud Darwish

While scouting for graffiti evoking memory and loss, I found this piece by Ernest Pignon-Ernest on the separation wall:

The image is particularly resonant of Nietzsche’s link between pain and recollection:

[i]f something was to stay in the memory, it had to be burned in: only that which never ceases to hurt stays in the memory.
