Off Scene, in Vienna

This week the Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna will be holding an exhibition exploring the impact of politics on the contemporary art scene in Tunisia.

Off Scene will feature the works of Dorra Dhouib (below), Nidhal Chamekh, Nicene Kossentini, Ismael and Mouna Karray, as well as a lecture on the politico-cultural dynamic in Tunisia, by the Kuwaiti artist and academic, Monira Al Qadiri.

Al Qadiri’s works are a marvel in themselves, looking at male authority figures, affluence and the self (below).

The exhibition in Vienna meanwhile, will also include works on war, survival and a (seemingly) post-apocalyptic theme.

Running between 25-30 April, further details can be found here.
