Do not underestimate the power of the hash: this morning Tweeters have been actively drawing attention to human rights abrogations committed by the Israeli state and pushing it into the broader Tweet-consciousness:

Regardless of the ideological standpoint, it evinces the power of Twitter as a tool for awareness, propaganda and activism.
